Midori Tamate(Midori)

Born and living in Sapporo, Japan, Midori enjoys playing a role as a bridge between Japanese locals and foreign visitors.

Midori has practiced with Taka Hosoe for many years and is greatly influenced by his teaching style, mixing vinyasa, Dharma Yoga and esoteric meditation. Having received certification to teach Hatha Raja Vinyasa Yoga in 2012, she passionately shares her study with students.

Midori is happy to dedicate her energy and ability to share the teachings of the great Yoga Masters.

Kayo Kurihara (Kayito) / Assistant Interpreter

After graduating from high school, she moved to the U.S., which had always been a dream of hers.

While studying social work at a university in Massachusetts, she learned about the existence of children suffering from poverty all over the world.
She later became involved in supporting children in developing countries, working at a gypsy orphanage in Romania, a
street children’s home in Burkina Faso, disaster-stricken areas in Asia, and conflict-affected areas.

After getting married to a man who has worked as a community development worker, she spent 15 years in Latin America with him and their children.

It was in Paraguay that she first encountered yoga.
In Colombia, she met her life teacher,Andrei Ram, who introduced her to the “true yoga” that she had never known before, and she found herself teaching yoga herself.

After returning to Japan in 2024, she continues to offer online class to student in Colombia and classes at yoga studios in Kanto area.

Keisuke Sakakibara(Nun)

He met Andrei Ram in 2008,
and he participated in Darma Mittra’s 200 hours teacher training which Andrei Ram served as a head teacher.
His life changed rapidly since then.

He runs “spaceWANI,” a community-based yoga studio in Kobe, aiming to create a place for comprehensive learning about yoga and other aspects of body, mind, and life, and a place where diverse things can connect.Since the 2020 Corona Disaster, he has continued to express yoga through YouTube.

He is teaching yoga in a variety of ways, and he is trying to make local communities which enable a sustainable and biodiversity world.

Yuki Nango (Yuki)

Based in Azumino, a rural town in Japan renowned for its beautiful mountains and pure water, Yuki shares Breath-Based Hatha Raja Yoga—rooted in Andrei’s teachings—with her local community.

Although she spent 12 years working in the corporate world, her life changed completely in 2016. While living in Chicago for her husband’s assignment, she encountered yoga, and it transformed her path.

Her journey began with the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra. Since then, she has remained dedicated to practicing and honoring this traditional lineage.

In 2022, she moved from Kobe to Azumino to open a community space called “Yuuyuu.” There, she organizes yoga classes, workshops on living in harmony with nature, and events focused on the joy of play.

As a member of Andrei Ram’s support team, she is honored to facilitate this experience and share the practice with you here in Japan.

Nagisa Kurokawa(Nagi)

Director of Yoga Studio “space wani” / Yoga Teacher

In her twenties, she frequently changed jobs as her health deteriorated the harder she worked. Seeking to strengthen both mind and body, she began practicing yoga in 2015.

Although she had always considered herself someone who easily loses interest, yoga was the one thing she continued. Through this ongoing practice, she gradually learned how to transform the sense of difficulty she had felt since childhood into a source of strength.

She is currently responsible for the overall management of space wani, while also facilitating yoga alignment practice sessions and offering private lessons.

In 2019, she met Nun and began to study yoga more deeply.
She joined space wani as a staff member in 2021 and now serves as the studio’s director, overseeing its operations.
In 2022, she joined Andrei’s training for the first time. Since then, she has been exploring the depth of Andrei’s approach to yoga while also supporting his Japan tours as part of the staff.
